Baked Gnocchi
Baked gnocchi can mean a bubbling dish under melted cheese or a crisp-edged sheet-pan dinner. The oven brings both under one heading, but the meals have very different textures.

The saucy side of the oven
A casserole surrounds the gnocchi with sauce, keeping the centers soft beneath a browned top. Sorrentina gives this idea a specific identity with tomato, mozzarella and basil. Creamy bakes lean richer, while vegetables and sharper cheeses offer different flavors.
Roasted is a different kind of baked
Sheet-pan dishes leave more of each dumpling exposed, giving the gnocchi a drier, firmer surface. Roman semolina gnocchi have another character entirely, with wide rounds under butter and cheese. These are separate styles of dinner, not simply different toppings on the same bake.
