World of Gnocchi

Poultry with Gnocchi

Poultry spans a surprisingly wide range with gnocchi. Chicken leaves plenty of room for the sauce, turkey brings a roast-dinner character, and duck makes a much richer ragù.

A modest shallow pot of chicken in light sauce and two small dishes with sliced roast turkey and braised duck, separate and realistically portioned on a wooden kitchen table.

Chicken is more than a creamy-soup ingredient

Lemon and capers emphasize chicken's lighter side; pesto and tahini give it very different herbal or nutty companions. In a soup or bake, chicken shares the same coating as the gnocchi. A bowl can keep the textures separate, with vegetables and dressing bringing freshness between bites. This is why chicken works in so many dishes without every one needing to taste like chicken Alfredo.

Roast flavors and richer meat

Turkey feels at home with gravy, broth, cheese, and the occasional tart cranberry. Those associations give the gnocchi dishes a familiar roast-dinner feel even when the format is a soup or a bake. Duck's fuller flavor stands up to red wine and a concentrated sauce. With it, plain potato gnocchi offer a welcome pause between the richer bites rather than competing for attention.
